A sweet new milestone in Pakistan-Sri Lanka commercial relations was celebrated on Sunday as premium Sri Lankan pineapples officially hit the Pakistani market following a high-profile launch ceremony in Karachi.

Hosted by prominent businessman Sahal Jan, the event signaled the start of direct commercial activities for the fruit while opening fresh avenues for trade cooperation. Jan highlighted the initiative to bring authentic Sri Lankan pineapples to local consumers and announced plans for upcoming promotional programs across the city.

The ceremony brought together key diplomatic and trade leaders, including Sri Lankan Consul General Sanjeeva Pattiwala, who stressed the vital importance of deepening economic ties between the two partner nations. British Deputy High Commissioner Tom Burge was also present, engaging in talks centered on regional trade collaboration and shared interests.
