International Foodstuffs Company (IFFCO) has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Pakistan, unveiling plans to further scale up its investment footprint across the country’s food and manufacturing sectors.
The strategy was highlighted during a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and an IFFCO delegation led by Global Group Director Abdelghani Abdullah and CEO IFFCO Pakistan Arshaduddin Ahmed. Key UAE Embassy officials also attended the session at the Finance Division.
Since entering the Pakistani market in 2006, the UAE-headquartered multinational has invested approximately $100 million, expanding its local footprint from a single oil and fats refinery to two refineries and five manufacturing sites. The company has since diversified into seed crushing, animal nutrition, and feed mills, significantly contributing to local employment, supply chain efficiency, and value addition.
Key takeaways from the discussion:
- Expanding Footprint: IFFCO reaffirmed that Pakistan remains a pivotal market, signaling fresh investments to expand its manufacturing and agricultural processing operations.
- Global Ecosystem Support: Operating across nearly 50 countries, IFFCO aims to leverage its global expertise in dairy, poultry, oils, and confectionery to bolster Pakistan’s national food security.
- Government Support: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb assured full government facilitation, reiterating Pakistan’s focus on supporting established investors, encouraging industrial growth, and deepening strategic economic ties with the UAE.
Both sides highlighted the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, expressing confidence that expanded corporate investments will drive continuous economic growth and job creation.
