Pakistan’s Seafood and Meat Exports Surge in First Two Months of FY27

Driven by robust demand for seafood and livestock products, Pakistan’s food sector recorded steady growth during the first two months of the current fiscal year (July–August FY27), according to official data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Meat Exports Lead the Surge

Meat and meat preparations registered a remarkable growth of 22.53%, generating $94.147 million in foreign exchange from 17,653 metric tons exported, compared to $76.835 million (17,177 metric tons) during the same period in FY26.

Seafood Sector Maintains Positive Momentum

Exports of fish and fish preparations increased by 3.23% in value. Pakistan exported 24,662 metric tons of seafood worth $47.791 million, up from 22,433 metric tons valued at $46.295 million in the corresponding period of last year.

Overall food exports expanded by 7.67% to reach $833.023 million. Meanwhile, food imports showed a modest increase of 2.23%, rising from $1.470 billion to $1.503 billion during the same period.
