PepsiCo India has inaugurated a state-of-the-art ₹778 crore food manufacturing plant in Nalbari, Assam, strengthening the state’s industrial and agricultural sectors while expanding the company’s footprint in the region. Spread across 44.2 acres, the flagship facility is set to play a pivotal role in driving economic growth, boosting local supply chains, and generating sustainable employment opportunities.

  • Boost to Local Agriculture: The plant will source high-quality agricultural raw materials, such as cold-index potatoes, directly from thousands of local farmers across Assam and neighboring states, promoting sustainable farming practices and reliable livelihoods.
  • Job Creation & Diversity: The initiative is expected to generate over 1,500 direct and indirect jobs, with PepsiCo committing to a inclusive workforce aiming for 100% diversity in line with its progressive hiring goals.
  • Modern Infrastructure & Sustainability: Equipped with advanced green technology, the Nalbari unit utilizes renewable energy sources, water-recycling systems, and modern cold-storage infrastructure to minimize environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency.

This strategic investment marks a significant milestone in Assam’s emergence as an industrial hub for North-East India, reflecting strong public-private partnership and reinforcing confidence in the region’s manufacturing landscape.
