In a major push toward expanding Pakistan’s export-oriented livestock and dairy sector, the Punjab government has agreed to allocate four acres of land in Faisalabad’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to ELC Biotechnology (Pvt) Limited for establishing a modern camel milk powder manufacturing facility.

The processing plant aims to tap into the high-demand international market, catering primarily to Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and other global destinations.

Key Highlights of the Project

  • Global Market Reach: The plant will process raw camel milk into high-value milk powder tailored for export to Middle Eastern and international markets.
  • Equipment & Timeline: Plant machinery has already been ordered, with delivery expected within the next six months.
  • Strategic Location: Situated inside the Faisalabad SEZ, benefiting from international-standard industrial infrastructure, plug-and-play utilities, and integrated banking services.

Government Commitment & Strategic Vision

The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, at PESSC House on Davis Road. Joining via video link from Italy, ELC Biotechnology Chairman Ehtisham-ul-Haq presented the project layout and machinery procurement status.

Expressing full support for the venture, Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain emphasized that facilitating investors remains the provincial government’s top priority under the Chief Minister’s industrial vision.

“Accelerating industrial development is essential to expanding manufacturing capacity, boosting exports, and generating sustainable employment opportunities for our youth. The government will provide all necessary land and support to ensure swift execution.”

— Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce

High-Level Attendance

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders driving Punjab’s industrial roadmap, including:

  • Qurat-ul-Ain, Chief Operating Officer, Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC)
  • Dr. Sohail Ahmed, Director General, Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT)
  • Ali Muazzam, Chief Operating Officer, Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC)

This strategic venture marks a significant step toward diversifying Pakistan’s dairy exports and strengthening both the provincial and national economy through specialized niche manufacturing.
