Driven by skyrocketing international demand and expanding foreign trade, Egypt’s food industry has achieved its highest export value in the sector’s history. Official data from the Export Council for Food Industries reveals that exports surged to approximately $4.473 billion during the first seven months of 2026, up from $4.040 billion in the same period of 2025. This historic milestone marks an impressive year-over-year increase of $433 million, or 10.7% growth.

  • Growth Drivers: Mahmoud Bazan, Chairman of the Export Council, attributed this record achievement to the enhanced global competitiveness of Egyptian products, a diversified manufacturing base, and higher value-added goods.
  • Global Reach: Export expansion was widespread, with 114 international markets increasing their imports of Egyptian food goods. The European Union emerged as the fastest-growing trade partner group.
